TJ and the Rebels’ Biography

TJ and the Rebels is a socially-driven rock band born in Florence, Italy, in the early 2000s. The project began in high school, when a group of friends bonded over a shared passion for music and formed their first band, The Fusites.

Following the arrival of a new guitarist, the band evolved into The Waves, marking a shift in sound and creative direction. Over the years, the lineup changed multiple times, with one constant: founding member Stefano Trojani, known by everyone as “TJ“.

As time passed, TJ’s vision and voice became the core of the band. In recognition of this, and with a renewed energy and purpose, the group adopted its current name: TJ and the Rebels.

Today, the band blends gospel, blues, and rock influences to deliver raw, powerful music with a message — balancing protest with soul, and storytelling with resistance.

God I Want To - TJ and the Rebels

In a time where silence feels like complicity and hope is a radical act, TJ and the Rebels raise their voices with “God I Want To“: a soulful cry, a spiritual howl, a rebel hymn for the broken and the brave.

Rooted in the power of gospel and the grit of blues and rock, this album walks the line between lament and resistance. While two tracks whisper of love in a world still capable of tenderness, the heart of the record beats with righteous anger — against war, greed, exploitation, and the invisible hands tightening around our daily lives.

“God I Want To” is not just a collection of songs. It’s a call to conscience. A refusal to stay numb. A prayer with clenched fists.

Let it move you. Let it disturb you. Let it remind you that music can still speak truth.
